The Adventure Calendar of Mr Timothy Hope

The Adventure Calendar of Mr Timothy HopeThe Adventure Calendar of Mr Timothy Hope

Timothy Hope, desperate to impress the beautiful but disdainful Lady Misericordia, stows away on Lord Daunt's expedition to the North Pole, and finds himself caught up in an adventure of high seas, deep crevasses, slavering wolves, reindeer sleigh rides and much, much more, with only his wits and inventiveness to keep him and his friends alive.

The Mazehouse

The Mazehouse
The Mazehouse project has its origins in an interactive TV show we made for the Sci-Fi channel in 2001. It was initially intended to be an interactive drama, but the Sci-Fi channel wanted it to be mounted as more of a hoax. Ever since I've wanted to go back and tell the story we originally intended to - the results can be seen at: mazehouse.ruritania.co.uk.

two-minutes.com

work_twominutes.gif
two-minutes.com was an interactive murder mystery we staged during the total eclipse of 1999. It was a live online event and, as such, disappeared soon after it had run its course.

Newcross Emergency Surgery Game

work_operation_1.jpg
A flash game providing all the thrills of high-stakes surgery without the blood-soiled clothes and law-suits.

Essentially a mash-up of the old boardgame Operation and one of those electrical dexerity tests, the game challenges the player to 'cut round' a series of complicated organs, racing against the clock to earn a place on the high score table. At the end of the game players are rated and awarded a dynamically generated certificate to print out and keep.

Cbeebies Poster Maker

work_postermaker_3.jpg
A poster making application for Cbeebies, designed by Alex at Swordfish, but coded by me. Kids can select a background and images of animals to place on it - they can scale and move the animals how they like and also add their own titles. They can also submit their picture to a gallery for other children to see, email a link to their friends to come and see their picture in the gallery and also print it off, either in colour or in black and white. It's built in Flash, inevitably, with a mySQL and php back-end, passing information back and forth in xml.

Jack Stalwart

work_jackstalwart.jpg
Jack Stalwart is the hero of a series of children's books written by Elizabeth Singer Hunt. Jack is a nine year old super spy who travels the world solving mysteries and thwarting criminals with an array of amazing gadgets.

The aim of the site was to allow the visitor into Jack's world, to become a spy and investigator for themselves. It was also key to include many of the informative and educational elements of the books, particularly features on world geography and culture.

Rockcandy records

Rockcandy Records had started developing a much more complex site but had run into difficulties. They asked me if I could build something quickly that they could edit and update and also include an e-commerce solution, all for a minimal budget.

Crown Golf

I built the the html templates for this site, following designs by Will Richards, to integrate with the back end content management system.

I also developed the various Flash elements across the site, again following Will's designs.

housebible

A blog about design for the garden for the lovely Carole & the estimable Ross. The blog is aimed at showcasing interesting and useful design for the house and garden.

I built templates to designs by Will, but this time going mano a mano with Moveable Type, which actually proved to be reasonably flexible and very useful for easily setting up a blog that Ross and Carole can maintain for themselves.
